Click here to go to the VILS at PPS website and fill out the chromebook form. We are asking students to bring any PPS devices charged and with them to school on September 2nd. Please return last year’s chromebook and charger to school. Parents, we will need you to do two things: The program helps students achieve, learn, and create more by delivering a new way of learning in school or at home. This is a very exciting opportunity for our teachers and students, and we are eager for the school year to start. In addition to free technology and access, Verizon Innovative Learning schools receive extensive teacher training, support, and the opportunity to engage and leverage technology in their classrooms. We equip every student and teacher with a Chromebook CTL device and up to a four-year data plan. Verizon Innovative Learning provides free technology, free internet access, and hands-on learning experiences to help ensure the benefits of technology are realized by all. The VILS mission is to help give millions of students the education they deserve, for a brighter future. This is a nationwide initiative that puts technology in the hands of students, and transforms schools into innovative and exciting learning environments. Our building was chosen to be a Verizon Innovative Learning School (VILS). We are very excited to announce a new program coming to George Middle School this year. George is now a Verizon Innovative Learning School (VILS)! Students can eat breakfast outside and then head to Advisory when the doors open at 9:10 AM. 
Bus riders will get breakfast outside as they get off the bus. For students who are walking or getting dropped off by parents they can pick up breakfast in front of the main office beginning at 9:00 AM. We have changed our breakfast routine to provide a safer environment for all. This will be a chance for them to connect with their Advisory teacher and class to build community, get school supplies, learn about George routines like lunch, recess, restrooms, etc… There will be lots of adults helping students find their Advisory class on the first day.
On Wednesday and Thursday, students will spend the morning with their Advisory Teacher (Period 9 on their schedule). We are all a mix of nerves and excitement for the first day of school! Students and families can expect student schedules to be live tomorrow (August 31st) in ParentVue/StudentVue. We are getting ready for Wednesday, September 1st- Our first day back is almost here!
